William Dean Moore
April 17, 1946 – July 25, 2025
Wallingford, Pennsylvania, lost one of its kindest souls and sharpest wits with the passing of William Dean Moore, beloved husband, devoted father, legendary grandfather, and cherished friend. He was 78.

William
Born in 1946
Born in 1946 in the quiet charm of Wallingford, PA, William, known to many as “Bill”, was a man of steady hands, a brilliant mind, and a heart that overflowed with creativity and love. A gifted artist from an early age, he pursued his passion all the way to the doors of Hallmark Cards, where he left an indelible mark as an illustrator and conceptual designer. His work touched millions, but it was his everyday artistry, his ability to make life brighter and funnier, that left the deepest impression on those who knew him.

In 1969
William married the love of his life, Donna Moore, and their 55-year union stood as a testament to deep friendship, laughter, and unwavering devotion. They were, by every definition, best friends, a team that built a life rich in love, family, and joy. Together, they raised three extraordinary children: Paul, Lisa, and Beth, each carrying forward their father’s creativity, compassion, and knack for timing a perfect one-liner.

William
6 grand kids, 3 great grand kids
To his six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, William was more than a grandfather, he was a magician of stories, a champion of their dreams, and the irreverent king of "dad jokes" that somehow stayed funny across the generations. His sense of humor was legendary: quick, clever, and delivered with a twinkle in his eye that always made you feel like you were in on something special.
But above all, William Dean Moore was love in motion. Whether through his paintings, his puns, or his quiet presence beside you during a hard day, he gave of himself generously. He believed life was to be celebrated, laughter was medicine, and family was everything.
In Loving Memory...
He is preceded in death by his parents Edgar Moore and Ruth Moore, and survived by his adoring wife Donna, his children Paul, Lisa, and Beth, and the generations of Moore family who will carry forward his light, his laughter, and his legacy.
In his honor, the family encourages you to tell a joke, paint something even if you "can't draw," and cherish every moment.
The world was funnier, warmer, and more beautiful with Dean in it, and it always will be, because of him.
